Alenka Korošec Peruzin was born in 1976. She completed the Secondary School of Economics in Koper and, after completing the Police College, joined the Border Police Station in Kozina in 1997.

In 1999, she switched to the Criminal Police Division of Koper Police Directorate, where she worked as a criminal investigator in the Juvenile Crime Group. She pursued her studies and acquired a degree from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Kranj in 2004, and became head of the Group.

Two years later, she joined Jelšane Border Police Station, where she served as the Assistant Head. In 2020, she was appointed Head of Koper Police Station for Compensatory Measures. In the span of her career, she gained operational and leadership skills and experience in the field of uniformed and criminal police. She also served as Chair of the Directorate's disciplinary board.

Alenka Korošec Peruzin took up the position of Director of Koper Police Directorate on 14 July 2023.
