Alternative skiing is healthy as long as you have the situation under control. Just like skiers, self-discipline and common sense are the most important things for you snowboarders. Although it's fun to speed down snowy, unmarked steep slopes, is one descent worth your life?

drawing of a snowboarder in the snowThere are tracks dedicated and specially marked for snowboarders. Find them and enjoy them. Prepared and adapted tracks for snowboarders are safer. Do not recklessly descend into dangerous areas on and off the slopes. Many people are injured on and off the ski slopes every year. Even fatal.

Above all, don't think only of yourself! You also have others around you whose lives are endangered by your careless and speed-impaired driving. There are pedestrians at the edge of the ski slope and many skiers are slower than you. Above all, there are children who are innocent victims of accidents on ski slopes. Children don't look around and expect a surfer who could fly over them at any moment. Avoid them at a distance so that there could be no accident, even if they react completely unexpectedly. Follow the instructions of the ski area wardens on the ski slopes. In recent years, police controls have also been tightened at the ski resorts, and the police charge fines to violators of the rules.

Be cool without violations!
You are not alone in the snow, so think of others as well. So we will all enjoy the winter holidays together without complications and unpleasant adventures.

Snowboarding has also its own set of rules, which snowboarders need to follow. These rules include:

  • Stay in control.
  • Give people ahead of you the right of way.
  • Don't stop in spots where you're blocking the trail.
  • Use a security leash and other devices to prevent your board from getting away from you.
  • Follow all warnings and posted signs.

Also, take a good look at the warning and information signs that are placed on the ski slopes and warn us of possible dangers.

Self-protective behaviour is welcome! It can also happen to you that your equipment is stolen, so before you leave home, write down the characteristics of the equipment (see the form for ski equipment) so that you can find your equipment more easily in the event of theft:

In order to be able to describe your equipment in case it gets stolen, write down the following data before you leave:

Your skis (snowboard):
Make ......................................................................................................
Type ......................................................................................................
Colour ....................................................................................................
Length ...................................................................................................
Number of manufacture ..........................................................................

Ski bindings:
Make .....................................................................................................
Your own marking ..................................................................................

Write down special signs of your equipment (damage, eventual repairs, etc.).
