Policija - Ten FIS Rules for the conduct of skiers and snowboard

Are you interested in the FIS rules of conduct, displayed on large boards at all ski resorts in a slightly humorous and instructive way? Would you like to keep your child busy when the weather prevents them from skiing?

All this is possible thanks to the drawings by Miki Muster, which we have prepared for the youngest in cooperation with the Slovenian Ski Lift Association and the Ski Association of Slovenia.

1^st RULE

RESPECT FOR OTHERS

A skier must behave
in such a way that he does
not endanger or prejudice others.

2^nd RULE

CONTROL OF SPEED AND BEHAVIOUR

A skier must move in control. He must
adapt his speed and manner of skiing
to his personal ability and to the prevailing
conditions of terrain, snow and weather
as well as to the density of traffic.

3^rd RULE

CHOICE OF DIRECTION

A skier coming from behind
must choose his route in such a
way that he does not
endanger skiers ahead.

4^th RULE

OVERTAKING

A skier may overtake another skier
above or below and to the right or
to the left provided that he leaves
enough space for the overtaken skier
to make any voluntary or
involuntary movement.

5^th RULE

ENTERING, STARTING OFF FROM AND CROSSING SLOPES

A skier entering a marked run,
starting again after stopping or
moving upwards on the slopes
must look up and down the slopes
that he can do so without
endangering himself or others.

6^th RULE

STOPPING

Unless absolutely necessary, a skier
must avoid stopping on the piste in
narrow places or where visibility is
restricted. After a fall in such a place,
a skier must move clear of
the piste as soon as possible.
