On 31 July 2008, the second one-year trial period for use of the Taser X26 electric paralyser by the Special Unit of the General Police Directorate ended.
During the trial period, the electric paralyser was not used by the police. The working group for control and use by the police is going to prepare a comprehensive report and present its findings to management.
